The Ultimate Family Camping List

Camping Storage and Supplies

Start by placing your clothing into soft-sided waterproof duffel bags that can be easily stored. I recommend using portable storage tubs for other equipment. And, don’t forget a large cooler.

Shelter

The most important item to remember is a waterproof tent, including tent stakes and a tarp. You will also need sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, and air mattresses, oh and don't forget the pump!

Weather-Appropriate Clothing

I cannot stress enough, to check the weather forecast and pack weather-appropriate clothing. Choose lightweight fabrics that are moisture-wicking. Likewise, be sure to pack layers of clothing in anticipation of cool evenings.

Camp Kitchen Gear

These items will vary depending on your cooking style and food preferences. - Camp Stove - BBQ Grill, - Lighter - Dishes & Utensils - Your Food & Drink - Clean-up Items

Last Minute Miscellaneous Items

Lighting is essential such as flashlights and lanterns. You will also need tools like a compass and pocket knife as well as sunscreen, first aid kit, bug spray and various other essentials.

Fun & Entertainment

A camping list for families should include items to help entertain both the younger and older kids. – Bikes – Cards/Board games/Toys – Frisbee/Football – Fishing rod/Bait/Net – Radio

Camping in the Rain

Most people will not knowingly camp in the rain, but if the unexpected should happen, you'll want to have: – A waterproof tent footprint – Raincoats/Ponchos – Rain boots – Additional towels
