Naples is an amazing family vacation destination located in southwest Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. 

With beautiful palm trees and miles of beaches with turquoise water and sugary-white sands, it’s easy to love Naples for the scenery alone.

Beyond its natural beauty, Naples has incredible shopping, golfing, and of course, good restaurants!

Naples’ best restaurants feature bounds of fresh seafood, French and Italian influences on new American cuisine, and a heavy smattering of Southern charm. 

As I said, there’s something for every palate here!

1. The Turtle Club

Located in North Naples, this beachfront dining experience is a great place to sample seafood with one of the best views Naples has to offer. 

Founded in 1998, The Turtle Club offers al fresco dining with outdoor seating.

With a stunning view of Vanderbilt Beach, you can’t beat the atmosphere which is why both visitors and locals love dining here!

If you’re looking for the best things on the menu, try the blackened fish tacos, miso-marinated sea bass, or a cured meat and artisanal cheese plate. 

For dessert, the vanilla bean creme brulee topped with seasonal berries is a must. 

For rum fans, you’ll need to sip on the Turtle Club Pirate Java Rum – a smooth, house-brand rum finished in coffee beans. You can even take home a bottle as a welcome souvenir!

Plus, kids can enjoy a fun drink too with a virgin frozen daiquiri or pina colada.

Additional planning tip: The Turtle Club is one of my favorite restaurants in Naples, as well as is very popular. Advanced reservations are highly recommended, especially for the outdoor patio seating.

2. Grouper & Chips 

Grouper & Chips is by-far, one of the best casual restaurants in Naples making it a great place for both kids and adults!

This not-so-hidden gem offers a Floridian staple – the grouper sandwich. 

At its heart, this is a family business run by Pam Pischner and her two daughters for over 27 years. 

Though it may not look like much from the outside, Grouper & Chips is a stop you won’t want to miss. This casual dining option has a relaxed atmosphere that makes customers feel right at home. 

This restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike so don’t be surprised if there is a line down the street!

Don’t worry—the food is well worth the wait. 

The grouper sandwich (made of fresh blackened gulf grouper) is an obvious must-try.

Beyond that, check out their unique French influence with the sauteed grouper milanaise or the bouillabaisse. 

Finish your meal with another iconic Florida must-try – key lime pie!

Additional planning tip: Order a three-piece grouper basket to share amongst your family. The portions are huge!

3. Osteria Tulia

Osteria Tulia is Naples’ beloved Italian restaurant!

Chef Vincenzo Betulia combines terrific Italian food with innovative craft cocktails for a memorable dining experience. 

Experience rustic Italian cuisine like pizza and pasta favorites made from fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Try the veal chop parmigiana, wood-roasted scallops, or a classic Margherita pizza (often voted the best pizza in Naples!). 

Kids will love simple dishes like grilled nonna’s chicken with spaghetti.

Be sure to peek at their wine list featuring hidden gems from small Italian wineries and global wine-makers. 

Here, you can try small plates of market oysters or the prosciutto and sweet kiss melon.

For a cocktail, you must try the Alameda sling – a mix of St. George Botanivore gin, benedictine, pomegranate, and pineapple citrus.

Round off your night with a mouth-watering honey yogurt panna cotta.

4. The Claw Bar

A seafood restaurant at its core – The Claw Bar serves decadent seafood towers, pistachio-crusted grouper, and whole Maine lobsters!

They also have amazing breakfast options for kids and adults alike. 

Try their lump crab eggs benedict for the best breakfast of your whole trip.

Kids can dig into scrumptious chocolate chip pancakes, or savory scrambled eggs with toast and bacon. 

Additional planning tip: If you’re in the mood for some live entertainment, zip upstairs to The London Club. We love to go here to enjoy a bloody mary while listening to live music.

Try the seared foie gras with fresh raspberries and a blueberry gastrique, the sauteed frog legs with garlic and parsley, or the burgundy escargot.

For mains, the truffled mushroom risotto with truffle cream sauce is to die for. 

Meat lovers will feen over the wagyu short ribs bourguignon braised in a red wine reduction.

If you saved room for dessert- that’s a good thing!

You need to taste the warm pear frangipane tart served with lavender ice cream!

6. USS Nemo

Find fresh seafood dishes made from local ingredients at USS Nemo. 

The miso-broiled sea bass is the house specialty that defines USS Nemo’s award-winning cuisine.

This delightful dish is served with citrus-ginger butter sauce, steamed rice or potato purée, asparagus, and carrot tempura. 

You can also sample the kids’ specialties which offer a welcome break from traditional chicken strips and fries (don’t worry, they have those too for picky eaters!).

Kids can try the famous broiled sea bass with lemon sauce, grilled grouper, or grilled steak with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.

Don’t forget to top their meal off with a Shirley temple! 

For dessert, tuck into a slice of coconut cream pie or some warm nut and pear pudding.

7. BALEEN Naples

Located at the LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort, BALEEN Naples offers locally inspired dishes with an incredible view of the Gulf of Mexico.

Guests can choose between comfortable indoor dining or dining on the oceanfront terrace to enjoy their meal.

If you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion, there are also exclusive beachside dining experiences available if arranged ahead of time through the resort.

Take advantage of the finest local ingredients with the Local Gulf Catch served with seasonal vegetables, kalamata olives puree, and a ratatouille vinaigrette. 

Kids can munch on classics like a grilled cheese sandwich or get adventurous with the pan-seared salmon served with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, and citrus beurre blanc.

For a quick cocktail, you need to try their ‘cocotini’ made with Ciroc coconut vodka, Sobieski vanilla vodka, and coconut cream.

In addition, be sure to order some truffle fries to nibble on the side!

7. Sails Restaurant 

At Sails Restaurant you’ll find great food and elevated dining making it one of the best places to eat in Naples!

Located in downtown Naples, Sails features 3 and 4-course-fixed menus that are practically drool-worthy.

They also have vegetarian and vegan menus for all of your dietary needs.

House favorites include the wood-grilled octopus, truffle risotto, and peppered tuna rossini.

Dessert is not an option in this case…it’s mandatory!

Try the sticky toffee pudding topped with house-made vanilla bean ice cream, brown sugar caramel, and candied pecans. Yum!

If you’re not interested in a fixed menu, you can sample a la carte options from their bar.

Additional planning tip: Fixed menus are expensive! Try their sunset menu – a 3-course fixed menu for $69/person.

This is available from 4:30 – 5:00 pm, Monday-Thursday, and is nearly half the price of their standard menu.!

8. 21 Spices by Chef Asif

For a slight departure from traditional Naples cuisine, you’ll want to try the award-winning Indian food from 21 Spices. 

This restaurant features a chic, modern interior and delicious food with a seafood influence native to southern Florida.

They also serve great vegetarian options and a separate vegan menu. 

Try Nizam’s kofte – vegetable and cheese dumplings, simmered in a rich saffron reduction finished with lemon and coriander. 

You’ll also love Chef Asif’s special biryani including lamb, tandoori chicken, shrimp, boiled egg, aromatic rice, and potli naan. 

Finish your meal with an aromatic masala chai and some rose-flavored rice pudding with cashews and raisins.

11. Sea Salt

Sea Salt is a popular Naples Florida dining option on Historic Third Street South.

Guests here love their huge outdoor patio, large upscale dining area, and gigantic bar area.

To align with the restaurant’s name, diners begin their meal with a trio of imported salts and extra-virgin olive oil to give them an introduction to the restaurant’s sea salt concept.

Along with modern seafood dishes, favorites include housemade pasta dishes, delicious steaks, and a 4-course dinner option for 2.

10. The Bay House

With an ambiance centered on gracious hospitality and Old Florida charm, the Bay House restaurant is a Naples hidden gem!

Located directly on the Cocohatchee River in North Naples, The Bay House offers unique waterfront dining and views of the Cocohatchee wildlife preserve.

The food here ranges from all types of seafood to southern-influenced dishes and signature dishes that include locally-grown and locally-sourced ingredients.
