1. Enjoy Amazing Waterfront Dining

Where there is great fishing, there are great seafood restaurants, and Destin Harbor Boardwalk is no exception.

The Destin Harbor is home to some of the best restaurants we’ve ever experienced while on vacation. (The only problem is that there are so many that you won’t be able to experience them all in one trip!)

Not only will you find an array of cuisine (including seafood!) that is fresh, local, and delicious, but each restaurant has its own unique decor and ambiance – all with amazing views of the ocean, as well as the nightly sunset.

Due to their great food, impressive location, and family-friendly oceanfront atmosphere, the Destin Boardwalk restaurants are extremely popular.

Long waits accumulate during peak tourist seasons, so do plan your meal time accordingly. Also, make reservations well in advance (if available).

Destin Harbor Boardwalk restaurants include:

In order from west to east:

  • Harry T’s Lighthouse
  • Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville
  • AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar
  • Dewey Destin’s Harborside Restaurant
  • Brotula’s Seafood and Steamer
  • Boathouse Oyster Bar

As a visitor, you just need to decide the type of fishing experience you’re most interested in booking.

Destin charter fishing options departing from the Destin Harbor Boardwalk include in-shore, near-shore, and deep-sea fishing for Grouper, Snapper, King Mackerel, sharks, and more!

There are options for half-day, full-day, and overnight fishing chargers, and the number of people that join the trip depends on whether or not you book a small or large vessel.

Though the fees vary based on the charter, you can expect to pay about $220 to $250 per hour for up to 4 people.

One of the best things about Destin Harbor fishing charters is that the fish get brought back to the docks and put on display, allowing everyone to witness the catch of the day.

Parasailing is an unforgettable way to experience the aerial views of Destin’s emerald-green ocean and miles of white sand beach!

Though there are a few other places to go parasailing in Destin, Destin X Parasailing and Boogie Watersports parasailing experiences depart right from Destin Harbor.

If you’ve never been parasailing before, keep in mind that absolutely no prior experience is needed.

Also, parasailing provides a sensation of floating vs. flying, you do not need to know how to swim and do not have to get wet unless desired.

Being that most parasail companies require that parasailers are at least 6 years old and weigh between 50-250 pounds, this is a great activity for families with older children and teens.
