7 Reasons to Stay at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake

Located 1.3 miles from downtown Whitefish, Montana, Grouse Mountain Lodge is a large family-friendly, lodge-style resort.

Grouse Mountain Lodge provides convenient accommodations for your Glacier National Park itinerary or for any other local Montana adventure.

Due in part to the fact that it is an older property, the nightly room rates here are much more affordable than other resort hotels in the area.

This is a huge perk if you are traveling on a budget, or don’t want to pay outrageous nightly rates.

The rustic-chic accommodations are accompanied by an onsite restaurant, gift shop, and conference center.

Also, along with a 24-hour fitness center, Grouse Mountain Lodge is home to an indoor swimming pool and sauna and a giant outdoor hot tub.

1. Classic Mountain Lodge Experience

When you’re lucky enough to be visiting Montana, there’s nothing better than staying at a hotel that features the classic, rustic-chic decor that makes Montana feel like Montana.

The welcoming ambiance at Grouse Mountain Lodge begins as you pull up to the front doors and are greeted by its log-style exterior and earth-tone-colored interior.

The huge rustic chandeliers, tile floors, stone fireplace, and giant leather furniture pieces in the lobby create a cozy, at-home feel.

With exposed beams, gigantic decks, and beautiful landscaping, the immediate charm you’ll feel outweighs the lack of modern, contemporary design.

Grouse Mountain Lodge has no shortage of standard amenities to enjoy including an indoor pool and sauna, outdoor hot tub, workout facility, sitting areas, and a fireplace in the lobby.

The outdoor patio was especially inviting with its padded, comfy chair and views of the Whitefish Lake Golf Course.

The lodge also features a walk-up counter serving grab-n-go breakfast items (for a cost), and an onsite restaurant and bar called Logan’s Bar & Grill.

Additional planning tip: Grouse Mountain does not offer complimentary breakfast, nor do they have a kiddie pool for small children. This may be a downside for some.

A plus, however, is that the Lodge offers shuttle service to and from Kalispell airport. Shuttle service requires a 48-hour advanced reservation. ($5 per Adult / $2.50 per child.)
